Selected cultural landscapes in agriculture were established in 2009 and encompass today 22 areas throughout the country.
The initiative is a common, interdisciplinary project between agricultural- and environmental authorities.
The work is led by The Norwegian Agricultural Authority, The Directorate for Cultural Heritage and The Norwegian Environment Agency.
In each area special grants are put aside for the upkeep of the area. Maintenance and preservation is based on voluntary agreements between the state and the landowners.
Organisation and mandate
A preservation plan has been constructed for selected cultural landscape Vest Lista. A work-group has the mandate to be the primus motor behind the finalisation of plans, events and actions. The work-group consists of 7 persons representing Lista Farmers association, the landowners, Farsund Municipality, Lista Museum, Vest-Agder county municipality and the County Governor of Vest-Agder.
